One of my resolutions in 2018 , was to get healthy ,shape up and lose a couple of pounds …

I decided to try out Safia Berrada’s program .  Safia is a boss girl from Miami.

I have been following her on social media and admiring her grind for a while and i’ve seen enough transformations to want to try her online program.

The program consists of a pdf meal plan , and 6 cardio focused workouts a week , alternating between 45min of jogging or cycling and Safia’s bomb ass workouts.

You receive 3 of her specific workouts each week, an upper body video , a lower body video and an then of course the abs .

You also get to join the community and a what’s up group of 10 girls doing the program with you. This  has been a big motivational tool in my 3 months of following her program . Also Safia was available whenever you needed her really (give or take the time difference of course, Miami – Paris ).

The beginning :

The program starts with you taking a before picture . she doesn’t like you weighing yourself because it doesn’t reflect you true progress ( i totally agree with that school of thought)

You can loose 4 kg in fat mass and gain 4 kg in muscle and that won’t show up on scale , but it would change your shape dramatically.

i did them all , pictures, scale and measuring tape.

The meal plan :

you get a grocery guide and a recipe book too( a pretty good deal, if you ask me! )

you have to consume small 5 to 6 meals a day ,with a relatively restricted carbs .

i wasn’t spot on with a diet because of my lifestyle . i work a 9 to 5 job , and don’t like to eat breakfast (I am well aware that these are excuses 🙂 ).

An example of my day on the meal plan would be .


2 rice cakes with peanut butter and half a banana

snack 1

12 almonds


a salad or some kind of carbless thai or Japanese food

snack 2:

12 to 24 almonds

dinner :

a sweet potato and a grilled tofu

not gonna lie , it was difficult, i got hungry and  strayed quite a lot from the diet and i think that’s why my results weren’t as great as they could have been.

The workouts :

Now if you don’t like cardio, this is not for you ! but also you are not gonna lose the weight as fast as you would want.

I love being active. So i went to the gym religiously 6 time a week for 3 month. it was quite refreshing actually to have someone give some structure to my fitness regime.

Monday: 20 minutes run + Safia’s Lower body video

Tuesday : minimum 45 min of running or elliptical machine

Wednesday : 20 minutes run + Safia’s upper body video

Thursday: minimum 45 min of running or elliptical machine

Friday : 20 minutes run + Safia’s abs video ( those are killers!!)

Saturday: minimum 45 min of running or elliptical machine

Before I share my results , here are from my point of view some pros and cons of this program


  • Affordable if on a deal, I got the 3 months deal for 200 euros because there was a 50% off
  • If you have problems motivating yourself, the what’s up and Facebook group , really boost you up
  • The workouts gets gradually challenging depending on your progress in the program
  • If you follow it , you will get results!!


  • If you are not really serious about this. Then its not for you . It requires some serious stamina and motivation to follow through
  • Eating outside was a challenge, you need to prep girlfriend!
  • Very cardio heavy, little resistance to my taste  (body weight to 1kg dumbbells). if you hate cardio, you will not like the program

My results :

Keep in mind that I did not follow the diet entirely . Weight wise I lost 0 kg . Amazing huh , all this effort for nothing !!  That’s what I would have thought if I have done this based on the scale alone. But as they say a picture is worth a thousand word


Also here is my measurements before and after :

Starting measurement

  • Fat : 24.4%
  • MM: 37%
  • WEIGHT : 54Kg
  • waist : 80cm / 31in

Last day measurements

  • Fat : 22% (-2,4%)
  • MM: 38% (+1%)
  • WEIGHT : 54Kg (0 kg)
  • waist : 69cm / 27 cm (-11 cm)

considering i did not diet at all, those results are amazing!

Bottom line, this program works! but as all weight loss programs . they only work if you are determined and you want it enough . Personally, I love it because it gave structure to my workouts and kept me accountable during the winter season

if you ever been on a plane, you know that the air onboard will dry every last  drop of water out of your skin,hair and overall body

Why Are Cabins So Dry?

Well, in order to dilute the carbon dioxide from passengers and crew inside of the airplane .Filtered air is being pumped in the cabin regularly. But being at a flying altitude, it makes it very difficult for anything to hold moisture.The humidity level is barely 10% or 15% .

I found a way to go around the unbearable dryness of flying, especially if you have an event or a significant someone waiting for you at the gates. You want to look as fresh as possible.

Disclaimar : this may involve you having to look like jason voorhees the serial killer for a while but it is SOOOOOO WORTH IT ..!

I have no shame in my game 😉 …

What do i do for my face?

FREAKING FACE MASKS should be your bestie… i buy my Tony molly’s mask from Amazon in bulk, so i won’t run out( also way cheaper) ..but if i do run out its totally fine!! there is always a pharmacy or a duty free that sells face masks


Pro tip:  get some makeup wipes while you are at it to wipe all the polluants and dirts off your face …you dirty girl 😂!!


I usallly wait untill 1 hour or 45 minutes before landing, and then i would wipe off my makeup and put my facemask for as long as i can (untill landing ideally), and then re-apply my moisturiser and my makeup if ineeded to .

Your skin will be sooo hydrated and fresh looking and ready for your trip.

What do i do for my hair?
For my hair, i bring a travel size leave-in conditionner for moistrizing or repairing , i like the kerastase Nectar thermique or ciment thermique …and really slather it generously all over my hair, sleek back your hair in a nice low bun or a braid and kick you legs up and relax.. Do this as soon as you get on the plane for maximum hydration.

More tips :

Hard pass on the coffee, it is only going to dehydrate you
Drink plenty of water,tea..heck even diet coke ( i know i do)
Bring an audio book and enjoy yourself…

how to get motivation for weight loss?


This post is not going to tell you how to loose weight…

This post is for something way better!!! Are you thinking about starting a healthy life style?loosing a couple of pounds ?or even transforming your physic? but you just can’t seem to get started due to lack of motivation …

You are stuck..huh? you know I heard once someone say ( i can’t remember who, but work with me here )…weight loss is not just 90% diet and 10% exercice . It’s 20% diet, 5% exercise and 75% WILLPOWER… 

Bur how to do it? How to get willpower….

Well, allow me to share with you some conventional and unconventional tips to get you started ladies( and gentlemen)…

1 – Get dumped

I’m not saying to go ahead. And throw away the love of your life in order to shed a couple of pounds , I’m just saying if you are already in a post-ship situation… you feel like you have been wronged…then you should take advantage of that sadness and lack of appetite …get angry , channel your inner khloé Kardashian and get that revenge body and show him that you are actually the F*****g ONE who F*****g got away

2 – Check out a Levi’s store ( Or any nice jeans store for that matter )

This is actually a true story, everybody needs jeans !!! so go in the shop, get a design of your liking and try the size you would want to fit in first !! And then try the sizes up to the one that will fit you…I am sorry ladies .. it is very depressing but it works at getting your psyche right where it should be to get that diet going

3 – Expose yourself on purpose

Go on an beach vacation! ( if you can afford it !…B***H!!) if your broke a** can’t afford it like me then just go to a nice party in a white tight body con dress that will show all the bulges… take a million pictures, and I mean full frontals, side, all profiles …go bananas ….throw yourself a bad angle unflattering photo shoot party ( and GOD NO  don’t put it on your social media !! We are not that numb to humiliation), also, simply just getting criticised by someone you don’t appreciate that much works ….humiliation is a strong tool you guys, use it!! *thumbs up*:D

4 – Throw yourself a food pity party…and release your inner kraken

Fine! So you are weak AF and can’t stick to any f***ing way or shape of dietary discipline , because …you know !..cravings and s**t…then here are the steps to follow:

  • Order yourself a ridiculous amount of your favorite foods…again, I can’t stress on the part where you should go bananas !!! order 4 people’s portions worth of food for you alone ( pizza, pasta , chocolate, ice cream, whatever your heart desires )
  • Free your evening
  • FINISH HIM *Mortal combat reference* your ONLY mission for the night is to end all you got. OK!? No excuses!!!!

Trust me! when you finish you will be so disgusted with the same foods you love so much…voilà!! ladie’s and gentlemen …introducing reverse psychology! your brain will start to associate your favourite food with physical pain ….

Don’t worry you can’t gain more that 500g of fat in one evening  the rest is just water from the salt intake ( Tried and tested )

5 – New year resolutions…yep! cliché …but it gets you started . Usually it’s easy to start a new resolution to be healthy on new year, but not so much to go all the way through it .

Statistically, more than 33% of people make this resolution each year but only 3% make it to February. YOUR CHOICE to not be SOOO BASIC . What do you say to that? 

I am fully aware that some of these tips are weird, but  you know what? GET WEIRD if that what gets the job done.

My 5 go to anti-inflammatory recipes


An inflammation is a synonym of infection, is the reaction of your body in response to harmful pathogens or irritants. Harmful stimuli can be either a cold virus or indulging in a fatty sugary meal… The body does not discriminate 😁

I usually like to step up my health game in the fall season, we are here now… so I wanted to share with you, five of my go to anti-inflammatory recipes when I am feeling under the weather …Don’t worry I am not a chef or anything, these are some basic quick fool proof recipes ideas

Ginger lemon Tea or infusion

I personally prefer infusions, any herbs will do..just make sure you like them , grind some ginger there and add some drops of lemon juice. A perfect way to start and end your day

Ginger: is a anticancer,anti-inflammation and an anti-oxidant

Lemon: a blood purifier and great for digestion and constipation

Avocado Toast:

Just mash an avocado, add lemon, cider vinegar ,salt and pepper before spreading it on your natural organic whole-wheat toasts ( if you have celiac disease then that’s gluten-free bread for you girlfriend!)

Sprinkle some grounded flaxseed powder or some chiaseeds and voilà! Enjoy..

Avocado: a rich source of anti-inflammatory monounsaturated “good” fats and phytosterols. … it contains vitamin E , vitamin C, manganese, selenium and zinc that also helps to soothe inflammation.

Cider vinegar: the list of benefits is just too long

Chia seeds: an anti-inflammatory food that supplies a high dose of Omega 3 fatty acids, fiber and protein.

Garlic broccoli:

Spread your cut, washed broccoli on a cooking sheet, add salt and pepper and a lot of grounded garlic and bake for 30 minutes

Broccoli: contains anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer phytonutrients such as sulforaphane which helps the body to get rid of potentially carcinogenic compounds.

Garlic : contains sulfur compounds that stimulate your immune system to fight disease.

Tofu curry with cauliflower rice

Heat up a table spoon of oil (honestly I guestimate that ish), add onions, Diced Tofu,salt,peper,a lot of curry. For an added boost add more turmeric.

For the cauliflower rice, just put some cauliflower in a blender and blend for 20 seconds, until its rice texture.

Then you add all to the pan and cook for 5 minutes, before you take off the pan off the heat add 20cl of coconut cream.

And serve while is hot.

Cauliflower: Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, pantothenic acid, and vitamin B6. It is a very good source of choline, dietary fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, manganese, phosphorus, and biotin.

Curry (contains turmeric): turmeric is one of the best antioxidant in the market, it helps fight inflammation, helpful for arthritis, brain boosting, protects against heart diseases and cancer

Berry Chia seed nice cream

For the chia seed’s pudding, mix 3 tablespoons of chia seeds with some almond milk and one table spoon of honey…and let it set for at least 1 hour.

I buy frozen berries from the store, but you can prepare your own, but make sure you have some variety in there, I mix it while its frozen and serve it with the chia seed’s pudding

Berries: Blackberries, cranberries, strawberries and raspberries. These berries are comparable alternatives to blueberries and are equally high in antioxidants. Not only they reduce inflammation, but they can protect the brain from aging and prevent diseases, such as cancer and dementia

Weird healthy hack for my working girls out there:

  • Starbucks or work cafeteria:
    Sprinkle some cinnamon on you morning Americano or Expresso, for added anti-inflammation action…
    Latte lover! I got you!! Try Starbucks new turmeric latte with coconut milk (no added sugar, ofcourse!)
  • Bar salad or restaurant:
    Always choose leafy greens for your salad, instead of lettuce, they are packed full of nutrients..
    Ask for salad dressing on the side, and make it from olive oil and lemon juice.Most restaurant are able to accomodate this request, even at chipotle *mind blown*
    Trying to cut down on soda…No worries ,ask for sparkling water with pieces of lemon ( freaking detox water on point!)

7 steps to beat the peel

My skin is very sensitive and usually prone to redness and dryness during the seasonal changes (summer to fall…fall to winter or even spring to summer.. )

if your skin fits the bill, then you probably going to need to step up your skin care regimen

The trick for me is gentle exfoliation and hydration masks.. I said masks and not creams…no matter how tick and hydrating, creams are just too weak for me …

1 – GENTLE mechanical  exfoliants :

I said gentle! Your skin is already irritated and peeling, so be gentle…I tend to oscillates between mechanical exfoliants like Foreo or Clarasonic with some gentle mousse and chemical ones

 I use the Foreo Luna 2 with the Nutriganics foaming face wash from the body shop . This face wash is so gentle that it doesn’t irritate my skin, but it’s not strong enough to exfoliate the skin , using it along the Foreo is the perfect combo, but be aware of not to use the foreo as instructed for the full 1 minute.. I find it very aggressive… I only use it for 20 to 30 seconds for my whole face… otherwise it will irritate your skin and make you breakout.


2-GENTLE Chemical exfoliants :

The best chemical exfoliant I used up until now has to be the CURE natural aqua gel… it’s a water like texture,  leave it on your skin for a minutes before you start gently rubbing off the dead cells from your face until there is no more…it’s a magical and a very satisfying routine…

3 – Facial lotion or essence

This is an Asian trend that I got into last year, and I find it to be a very pleasant experience after washing my face that replaces the regular European toner step.

These are usually nonalcoholic toner like products; they are rich in hyaluronic acid or other components that you can find in high end brand’s serums. I recommend the Rohto Hada Labo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion.

Fun fact : you can actually wet some thin cotton pads with the Hada Labo lotion and use it as a facemask

4- Face masks

You can definitely, make some hydrating DIY face masks. But, honestly I just order mine from Amazon by the bulk. It’s easier and cheaper J

I use the tony molly sheet masks, my favorites are the Aloe Vera, Tea tree and the rice one. With that being said, I do like them all and I take them with me wherever I go, even on airplanes.

For best results, I recommend sleeping in these sheet masks, they are very gentle that they won’t irritate your skin…I recommend you do this everyday when you skin needs it .. but take caution to overwhelm your skin with nutrients otherwise it can have a counterproductive effect …After your skin is feeling better , take it down a notch to 2 or 3 times a week for prevention purposes.

5- Serums

For days when you are not using a sheet mask, I recommend using serums after your facial lotion and before your night cream.

I recommend these two serums from the ordinary and Estée Lauder …









6 – Night Cream or oil

A heavy night cream is a must for winter…the lotion is great for locking instant hydration from the washing ,the serums are full packed with nutriants and the cream will lock in everything and let your skin absorb and repair itself during the night… so don’t skip this important step.. I alternate between  the good night cream from Elizabeth Arden and Rétinol 1 TR by Medik8





7 –  Biafine topical emulsion

is a water-based emulsion formulated for the dressing and management of superficial wounds, minor abrasions, dermal ulcers, donor sites, 1st and 2nd degree burns, including sunburns, and radiation dermatitis.

Yep! The secret weapon, I once had my face completely fried by the climate changes.. it was red, scally, super dry to the point I couldn’t smile comfortably.. the only thing that helped was Biafine..applied religiously day and night for 2 days.. and my skin was as good as new

Disclaimer: I am not a professional or an expert, I am just sharing my experience from what it works for me with you all

Side notes:

  • Try investing in a humidifier for it is the only thing that can counter the drying effect of the heater in the winter
  • Try sipping on regular, flavored water or tea at all times of the day
  • Don’t forget about your eyes, you can use most face masks, serums on the eye area, but you need to invest in a good eye cream for optimal results
  • Use a good UVA sunscreen in winter; the aging rays are always there even when you can’t see them
  • If you can, invest in a satin pillow case, for it is much gentler on the hair and the skin than cotton ones

I Tried The Dukan Diet ( The vegetarian version)

A lot of you have heard of the dukan diet and how effective it is when it comes to weight loss.
Before my vacation started I thought …I will give it a go .
The only problem for a vegetarian such as myself lies in finding good pure protein sources. Don’t get me wrong my vegetarian diet has a lot of proteins from eggs, nuts, quinoa and greens, but in order to execute this diet as recommended by its creator Dr. Dukan. I needed pure proteins witch for me it’s gonna be basically ,egg whites,Tofu and fat/sugar free dairy products (not a good idea since im lactose intolerant) .

This relatively old diet is broken down to three phases :

The attack phase : Only pure protein is consumed (egg white, fat and sugar free dairy, tofu ) it lasts from 2 to 7 days depending on the case
The cruise phase : Alternating between one day of pure protein and one day of protein and veggies ( with restrictions), until you reach your desired weight.
The consolidation phase : the maintaining phase, you start having toasts for breakfast, a one to tree cheat meals a week and one mandatory pure protein day a week

To be honest this diet is not realistic for me to keep up , but since I was going on vacation, extreme occasions call for extreme measures. Right?

So I was going for 5 days of the attack phase and thats it, just to have an idea about the hype . It was f***ing brutal…

The real challenge here is that I am going through this as a vegetarian . So here is what happened day by day.

DAY 0 :
Today is the last day of my first vacation . I went rogue on this vacay and didn’t really pay attention to what I ate, I was already feeling down because I gained a couple of pounds this year and didn’t exactly look glorious in my bikini!… but that’s okay I was determined, doing this shit and documenting it for you guys.

DAY1 :
Its a work day, I am not big on breakfasts. so my breakfast consisted on double shots of expresso and thats it.
For lunch : I had to Improvise, there are not much high protein choices for vegetarians . Since I was motivated, I had a rather unconventional lunch : 2 fat and sugar free yogurts and 2 pieces of fat free cheese ( known as fromage frais here in france).
For dinner : I was starving so I had a about 250g of fried egg tofu ( I used a non sticking pan (no oil))
By the end of this meal I was super full.

Day 2 :
I woke up 1kg (2 lbs) lighter … Yes I weigh myself everyday just because 😀
Breakfast : Two shot of expresso
Lunch : I prepared 2 boiled eggs and 2 fat free yogurts
Dinner : 250g of egg fried tofu (. I use one egg and no oil) + 1 frozen fat free yogurt
This day felt a little bit difficult, I was foggy and couldn’t concentrate on work but I soldiered on.

Day 3:
I woke up another 1kg (2lbs) lighter again . I was blown away how fast it works . Even though I knew it was water weight.
Breakfast : Two shot of expresso
Lunch : I found a lentils salad with an egg in Monoprix ( thank god). After a lot of research I found out that for vegetarian we are aloud 2 spoons of lentils in this diet a day
Dinner : 250g of egg fried tofu + 1 frozen fat free yogurt
It was brutal, my energy was low and I felt dizzy twice.
Day 4:
Another 500g (1lbs) is lost
Breakfast : Two shot of expresso
Lunch : I had a work lunch in a sushi place, I had to improvise, so I had 2 miso soups and 2 mushrooms barbecues … its not perfect and I definitely looked weird but I tried
Dinner : I had 2 sheitan steaks ( very high in protein) + 1 frozen fat free yogurt
Today was the worst probably because I had so little at lunch, I was so dizzy that I had to go out and get myself some dukan biscuits for a little energy, otherwise I fear the worse

Day 5:
Another 500g ( 1lbs) is lost
Breakfast : Two shot of expresso
Lunch : I had the lentils salad
Dinner : I had to catch the plane for Morocco, so I was supposed to finish the diet then but I found an egg and spinach meal at Starbucks in the airport. So I actually didn’t .

One day after the diet :
I didn’t have any scale to weigh myself, but looking at how much I’ve been loosing everyday I would say I lost another half a kilo ( one pound)
In total I lost 3Kg (6 lbs) in 5 days … a little over 500g a day ( and without exercise) …that was amazing but surprise surprise !! as soon as you stop doing this unrealistic diet. You will gain it all back or some of it atleast … I did gain some of it back ..but that was expected …it was a temporary solution for a special occasion… and it works…would I recommend it ….nah probably not if you are a vegetarian , non lunch preper like myself

How to stop your period

Yes! it is possible to stop period blood for a day or in some cases a couple of hours or completely after your cycle has already started .

We know, it is possible to further push your period or even stop it for up to 6 months with the pill .But after its here, there was no running from it… 

Theses are obviously extreme measures, not to be done regularly but only when you have an occasion, a vacation or in my case a laser treatment appointment  😀

I tested these remedies that I found on the internet on the course of 2 days( actually, one day and a half) . So here is what I thought of each one of them :


The first one, was the lemon trick, it says that it will stop or reduce flow significantly . So here I was on my first day of period ,I had my lemon water , witch  is something that I do very often and to be honest I never seen anything out of the ordinary

Did it work?

Not really, but it was a refreshing start of my morning before work.

Tea and herbs

After I got to work and around 11am, I went for some tea with vervain and tea, keep in mind that the effect should be instant i didn’t really notice any changes in my flow or cramping level.

Did it Work?

Nope. Next…


After lunch, I decided to try the less natural approach and tried to take 400mg of ibuprofen at 2pm and another at 6pm

Did it work?

Actually yes! It worked , it relieved  my pain and reduced my flow significantly for 3 whole hours as it promised . And then I had another one when I noticed my cramp coming back.

That was on day one, one of the heaviest day usually . On day 2 I had my appointment at 2:30 pm, so I was determined

Gelatine powder

This trick is a little weird! you are supposed to mix some gelatine powder with some water and supposedly it will stop or reduce your flow. Now, because I am a vegetarian I chose the Agar-Agar powder ( a vegetarian friendly gelatine) , you can find it in all the stores in France without any problem.

It tasted horrible but it did the trick, just mix it with water and swalalala :p

Did it work?

Actually it did. Even though to be completely honest , I had it with 400mg of ibuprofen. So its possible that the combination of both worked out fine for me. I was period free not only for 3 hours but for that whole cycle .

Keep in mind that the results may vary ,some girls may just experience reduction in the flow , some may experience stopping , some may experience nothing at all… give it a go next time and leave me a comment if you do , i’ll be happy to know what did you think of these tricks…

Laser is the new waxing

I don’t know a single girl who wasn’t or isn’t interested in today’s topic:

Hair laser removal! It has been around for quite a while now ( since the 90’s really) but still sometimes you just don’t get around to try it and see what the hype is all about…

No worries! I’ve got you Girlfriend!

What is Hair laser removal?

“The primary principle behind laser hair removal is selective photothermolysis (SPTL), the matching of a specific wavelength of light and pulse duration to obtain optimal effect on a targeted tissue with minimal effect on surrounding tissue. Lasers can cause localized damage by selectively heating dark target matter, melanin, in the area that causes hair growth, the follicle, while not heating the rest of the skin.”  – By Wikipédia

Basically, the laser attacks melanin which is what  gives your hair that black color, without damaging the white surface ( that’s why you are not supposed to tan before getting the treatment done).

The whiter you are and the darker your hair , the faster you hair will disappear…otherwise you’re just going to need more sessions and special laser waves if your skin is darker…


Why not IPL (Intense pulsed light)?

Without going too deep into the science, it’s just like laser but the intensity of the light is way less strong and that’s why it’s safe to be used by estheticians and at home.

I did  try it at home, and didn’t like it ! It’s painful, tedious and takes a lot of maintenance time and the results don’t even last for a month.

The machine i tried for a year!!

Why did I decide to do it?

Praise the lord, I’m not a very hairy person … with that being said, I hate seeing hair on my body, and it seems unhygienic to me… but if you are a girl who likes it all natural… More power to you girl ( I secretly wish I was you) . Long story short , it was economical and it made  sense


In France, you have a lot of beauty centers if you are a wax girl, wich I was:

  • Subscription fees: 30
  • Subscription: 8/ month
  • Average visits: Every 3 weeks (Price: Around 34 euros )

 ((8*12) + 30) + (17,3 * 34) = 715 euros / year (EVERY YEAR!!) , give or take…

Hair laser removal:

  • Subscription fees: 0
  • Subscription: 0
  • Average visits: 5 or 6 every 2 to 3 months (Price: 140 euros)

6 * 140 =840 over the course of 2 years ( AND YOU ARE FREE FOREVER…. Well, not forever, in case you get pregnant or have any hormonal unbalance in the future. then you have to go back for one more maintenance session), but still WAAAAY better of a deal than waxing.

ADDED BONUS: Kiss those stubborn mother iffing ingrows goodbye!! No more of that ish…

How did it go?

Well I started with research, and did a lot of it until I found an affordable center. the first session was free… don’t worry it’s completely legit… the one I chose was called EPILIUM, it’s a center held by a dermatologist license, but the people who work there are technicians, but they are fully trained and they know what they are doing…

You can opt for a clinic but the bill is going to be a bit pricy, like double what I paid…

I booked a session on the phone and they gave me an appointment in the same week. The first session was a consultation to see your pain tolerance, what you wish to be done, prices, yati yati yata…

So basically, I started treatment in a couple of weeks after that , in Octobre 2015, I came prepared with an aesthetic cream that the technician recommended. Because on a pain scale of (Pussy to WonderWoman) ,I tested “Pussy to the bone” on my pain tolerance… so be aware of that.

Usually the session go quick ( and painless, if your anesthetic cream works), the expert draws on you with a white pen, so he will mark what areas to cover , and then starts treating the area with the machine .

Meanwhile, you begin to smell a strong smell of burnt biological matter in the air… that’s normal… it’s just your hair follicles getting fried 🙂

It takes me like 15 minutes tops and then i am  ready to go, hit the gym or do whatever i like as long as it doesn’t involve sun exposure…

If your area gets a little warm, just apply some BIAFINE on it and it should be fine the next day…usually they do it right after the treatment

Within the week, you might start shedding some hairs from the treated area. That’s your body letting go of the dead hair follicles that were zapped deep in the skin.


Never go out without sun screen!


Home girl ! You are good to go for at least 2 months with no razor or wax or iffing ingrows …After a year of treatment, i only go every 5 to 6 months…How crazy is that!!

Each time you do it, your hair grows back with 10% to 20% less hair.

 By the time your in for your last session, you will only be able to see fuzzies, but no real hair …


I tried Micro-pigmentation and here is what happened

Today’s topic is something i wanted to try for a while now, and when i say a while… for a light browed girl like me…it means forever…

i never did though because i was afraidi would look like a freak. What if my eyebrows come out too dark, too thin, too fake, etc… that’s right brow blading.

Now im sure you have been mesmerised once or twice by videos on micro-blading ,or other technics on your Facebook or Instagram daily feed…

So for me it started with …huh! Interesting moment . But after one of the fews french bloggers that i follow posted a picture of her looking flawless WITH NO MAKEUP , only eyebrows and lash extentions done up…… I had to investigate 🙂 Luckily, for me she tagged the person responsible for her look ‘’BrowVision” .

I immediately contacted the page and Clara answered my calling. I booked her right away 3 weeks in advance, because girlfriend was overbooked…

On D-day, Clara came to my place, with an arsenal of heavy equipment, and she spent three and a half hours working on me ( the micro-pigmentation lasted 1h30 and the lash by lash extensions lasted 2 hours)

She’s started by plucking my eyebrows and giving me the perfect eyebrow shape for my face, i have to admit in the beginning it was scary i saw this big thin eyebrows, and if you know me you know that i like it thick (That’s what she said 😀 )

Anywho, later she explained that it should be thin in the beginning, cause once micro-pigmented, it will look  thicker and double the size of my brow, and if we go  any thicker than this the first time, it will be hilarious.

I trusted her and we begin the process, it was painful AF, i barely made it alive… she uses this thin needle filled with ink and make small holes on your eyebrow, the holes are superficial so its not like a tattoo, for the eyebrow only will last a year to a maximum of 3 years with an important fading rate… but that exactly what I wanted , no life time engagement, just enough time to figure out if its my thing or not.

at the end it did look fake but she said with in 3 days, it will fade away and by the 10th day 80% of the pigment will fade and then this will give her a base for our next session ( 4 to 5 weeks later) where we will decide the tickness and the gap filling for the next year to 3 years.

After treatment i had an event, so i took advantage of the heavy brow trend and put some dark lipstick on and looked fine actually…

Over all I loved having Clara , and even being on day 2 , i like my eyebrows and lashes they make me look put together even if i throw on only a lipstick ( even though i look grumpy in the picture).

Day 2 :

After 6 weeks:

Today it’s been like 6 weeks since my appointment with Clara and i still see results , i missed our free session to fill up the left over gaps and the flaky parts, but somehow i still feel like i don’t need it yet.

Over all, i don’t regret it… it absolutely save me time in the morning . I wake up and i am ready to go. Especially after the ink faded out a little bit and i dont look like the crazy evil bitch from Rosalinda… would i do it again… probably, but gonna wait for three years until science comes up with something new … but i’m keeping them brows on fleek until then…

I tested the keratin hair treatment

Keratin hair treatments , or smoothing treatments. Called smoothing because really, they are supposed to smooth out frizziness and give you nice silky shiny locks. But most people when they get a Brazilian blowout or a keratin treatment , they end up getting a straightening perm fused with some keratin…

I knew this before i’ve been there , done that and i’m about to tell you what happened…

The reasons why i wanted a keratin treatment were primarily :

  • Convenience. I wanted to wake up take a shower and get out of the door without having to glimpse at a blowdryer.
  • Manageability .I suffered immensely from the constant bleaching and dying over the years. Going from brunette to ombre hair, then blonde, going blonder, then back to brunette… My hair was really damaged and porous and it was difficult to manage at the end.

My hair type :

Now my hair is thin and wavy , and it’s relatively soft mostly…most of my entourage thought a keratin treatment was  a little too much.

what happened :

When i got the idea, i was in Morocco. So of course being the aries that i am , i wanted it to be done today before tomorrow…The hairdresser was a friend of the family and I have seen her work before on friends and family members. i bit the bullet and went for it , the process took 4 hours.

First she washes the hair with a cleansing shampoo to take all of the dirt and the residue of hair products.

And then she proceeds to applying the hair product. She used Brazilian afrokeratin from INOAR , yep ..i know! Its a little too strong for my thin hair but it went just fine.

 and lastely, she flat ironed the crap out of my hair until it was dry and pin straight. It looked ridiculous

at the end she asked me not to touch it with water or tie it  for 3 to 4 days , the longer i did it  the better, and to proof straighten it for the next 3 days… but she was nice enough to do it for me .. so i went back to see her for the next 3 days where she would re straighten my hair with the flat iron over and over… 

On day 4, i was suuuuper happy to wash my hair … i washed it and let it air dry and guess what it worked my hair stayed pin straight …. it was a little too lumpy and lacked some serious volume , but i was okay with it because what lacked in volume made up for it in shine and silkiness

Then things got ugly for a while, my scalp had an allergic reaction to the product, and started peeling !  So i called the hairdresser and she explained that she had this happen to most people with this particular product and there was nothing to worry about , it will go away after 2 or 3 days … and she was right, in the span of 2  days my scalp was fine and all the peeling has stopped

Results :

Perfect low maintenance hair…

After 6 months :

I had no problems what so ever , but after 6 months i noticed  my hair started thinning out a little , it wasn’t that bad and probably not even related to the treatment …but i just hated it, also my roots started to grow out wich . For me its not so bad because my hair is wavy so it gave me a little volume with out it being too obvious …

After a year :

After a year ,my hair was wavy and thick from the top of my hair and thin and pin straight from the ends and also started looking damaged with time …  it was expected in my case … because during this period i have never done a hair treatments or took care of my hair.

At the end of it all, i only had one choice wich is to get rid of the ends with the keratin on them, hence my brand new bob 

It was nice while it lasted, but all good things come to an end…
